FOCUS AND SCOPE

ENERLAC, the energy journal of Latin America and the Caribbean, is an institutional publication of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), with a semiannual publication frequency.

The objective of the journal is to contribute to the dissemination of research results and scientific technical works in the energy sector of Latin America and the Caribbean, prepared by academics and researchers belonging to institutions linked to the sector in the 27 member countries of the Organization.

The journal focuses on research and analysis of topics related to electric energy, energy efficiency, renewable energy resources, energy and gender, hydrocarbons, climate change, energy policy, energy integration, and sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

ENERLAC is a specialized communication medium in the energy sector; therefore, its content is aimed at government officials and advisors from energy entities, specialists, academics, and those who formulate and implement energy policies.

EDITORIAL POLICIES FOR PUBLICATION

ENERLAC is an open-access journal that seeks to contribute to the dissemination of research results and scientific technical works in the energy sector of Latin America and the Caribbean, prepared by academics and researchers belonging to institutions linked to the sector.

ENERLAC is a specialized communication medium in the energy sector. In this regard, its content is aimed at government officials and advisors from energy entities, specialists, academics, and those who formulate and implement energy policies.

ENERLAC publishes original articles, new research, theoretical-methodological update articles, theoretical and methodological case studies, and articles resulting from research projects carried out by academia and experts in the field. These contributions are received through open calls to the entire energy community, as well as by request of the editors.

The Editorial Committee of ENERLAC is composed of outstanding researchers from AUGM and OLADE. Its role is to manage the editorial process of articles for review and publication, collaborate proactively with the journal, and recommend publishable topics and articles.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOURNAL

  • ENERLAC is a technical and scientific journal with a semiannual publication frequency.
  • The journal receives scientific and unpublished works.
  • Submitted works must not be under evaluation or have editorial commitments with any other journal or publishing body.
  • All authors, without exception, must submit a signed “Declaration of Originality of the Written Work” along with the submitted work.
  • Works are accepted in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. When submitting the Spanish version of a work originally written in another language, the original text must be attached.

EDITORIAL MANAGEMENT PLATFORM

ENERLAC uses Open Journal Systems (OJS) as its editorial management system, developed by Public Knowledge Project (PKP). OJS makes it possible to manage the entire editorial process of the Journal in digital format, from the submission of manuscripts by authors to the final publication of the issue. Therefore, all proposals considered for publication, including articles and reviews, must be submitted through this system as specified in the following links:
